Privacy policy

Your CAD model stays on your PC. Here is what we do process, why, and where.

Last updated 29 October 2026

This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for users in the EU/EEA and the UK, the GDPR.

1. Controller

Fionia AG, Bundesplatz 3, 6300 Zug, Switzerland, UID CHE-205.812.124. Contact for privacy matters: contact@laminaro.com.

2. The short version

Your CAD models, meshes and results stay on your PC. We process the minimum we need to sell you a licence, run the trial and provide the AI features. We don't sell your data, don't use it for advertising and don't use it to train AI models.

3. What stays on your PC

CAD models, exported geometry, meshes, OpenFOAM case folders, results, reports and videos. Laminaro meshes and solves locally, on your PC or on another PC in your office; none of this is uploaded to us.

4. What we process, why, and on what basis

The CAD model is never sent to the AI. Part and face names can contain information you consider confidential; rename them in Inventor before a study if needed. Each AI feature can be switched off in Laminaro's Settings, and then nothing is sent for it.

5. Recipients and sub-processors

  • Lemon Squeezy LLC (USA): reseller and merchant of record; an independent controller for payment data under its own privacy policy.
  • Anthropic PBC (USA): provider of the AI model (Claude). Processes what the AI features send, on our behalf. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, inputs are not used to train models and are deleted after a short retention period.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA, global network): website hosting, email routing, our licence and AI server.
  • Google LLC (USA): receives emails sent to our addresses.
  • Authorities and advisers (accountant, lawyer) where the law requires it.

6. Transfers abroad

Some recipients are in the USA. We rely on the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and otherwise on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the Swiss amendments.

7. Retention

  • AI requests: not stored by our server beyond the metering below; held by Anthropic for its retention period only.
  • Metering logs: 12 months.
  • Licence and customer data: for the subscription plus up to 12 months; accounting records 10 years (Art. 958f CO).
  • Emails: up to 2 years, unless needed longer for a legal claim.
  • Website server logs: a short period, as set by Cloudflare.

8. Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to contact@laminaro.com; we answer within 30 days. You can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.

9. Other points

No automated decisions. We make no decisions with legal or similarly significant effect about you by automated means. The AI helps configure and explain a simulation; it decides nothing about you.

Security. Encrypted connections (TLS) everywhere, licence keys instead of passwords, minimal data, access limited to Fionia.

US users (including California). We don't sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and don't use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can ask for access to or deletion of your data at contact@laminaro.com; we won't treat you differently for asking.

Children. Laminaro is a professional tool, not intended for anyone under 16.

Changes. We update this policy when our processing changes. The current version and its date are always on this page; material changes are emailed to subscribers.
